Kill rock’n’roll before it takes another martyr
I’ve just had it with learning about another musician’s (early) death. I mean for how long are they going to drop like flies? I’ve made a new album on my hi5 profile with a few dead musicians, and out of 20, 9 died because of an OD, 2 because of suicide, 3 in a vehicle accident, and the remaining 6 by other not less irritating reasons. Come on already, can’t anybody learn from the past? Sex, drugs & rock’n’roll = a big Molotov cocktail waiting to blow up in our face… no wonder when people hear about rock, they think about junkies and depressed , angry musicians. I’m starting to have enough of listening to great bands thinking, wow, what a great voice, what a great guitar solo, just to realize that I’ll never hear/see new materials with that great talent ever again.
Below you can see a screen shot with musicians and their official cause of death. In the cases where no autopsy was performed, I wrote the general conception. I have to mention though, that by official cause, I don’t necessarily understand true cause. As in the case of The King, a mixture of ten prescribed drugs is cited on many websites as the real reason of his passing. And let’s not forget the infamous Kurt Cobain conspiracy, according to which, he was murdered. (See here for more information)
Oh I don’t know, maybe we just have to be grateful for the legacy they left behind, and hope for a better future. Until then, let’s all head-bang/dance/ listen to the music they created, and remember them by passing their disks, CDs, DVDs to the next generation…
RIP Legends!
Yours truly
